Contacting a patient

In-room telephone

Patients have a private telephone in their room and they can receive calls from between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. Patients can use this number as soon as they are admitted. The main switchboard can also forward it unless otherwise directed.

Outside of these hours, the main switchboard will connect you to a member of the care team who will be able to update you about a patient's care and condition.

Patients can use their cell phones within the hours specified as long as they respect the peace and quiet of other patients.

Respecting the well-being and safety of patients

For the safety of all our patients, we ask that you follow any specific instructions that may be given to you by members of the care team or displayed in departments, for example, wearing a mask or using hand sanitizer to clean your hands. Please pay special attention to these measures during the flu season and COVID-19. 

Using your cell phone 

Please refrain from using your cell phone as much as possible when you are visiting a patient. This helps to ensure a restful environment for all patients. 

Flowers for patients 

For hygiene reasons, only cut flowers are permitted in patient rooms. Flowers are not allowed in the intensive care unit. Thank you for your understanding. 

 

Pets 

Pets are not allowed in Hôpital de La Tour. 

Non-smoking hospital

Smoking and vaping are only permitted in the designated smoking areas. 

 

Cafeteria & Café Alto

Hôpital de La Tour has a cafeteria and a small coffee shop, where you can spend time and enjoy some food with a patient, if they feel well enough to do so.

The cafeteria has recently been refurbished and expanded to serve you better. It also has a terrace where patients and visitors can enjoy the sunshine. If offers a wide range of delicious and nutritious meals, including a salad bar, two daily specials, a grill, and a set menu.

Monday–Friday: from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday–Sunday: from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Café Alto

Café Alto serves a selection of hot and cold drinks as well as light bites (sandwiches and salads) and snacks.

Location: upper ground floor, B2 building
Opening hours: Monday–Friday: from 7.15 a.m. to 3.45 p.m.
