Areas of expertise

PD Dr med. Sophie Restellini is a Gastroenterologist at Hôpital de La Tour and at the University of Geneva, specializing in inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) and neurogastroenterology. She was trained in Switzerland, France and Canada.

She became Associate Professor at the McGill University Health Centre in Canada in 2018 and obtained a position as Privatdocent at the University of Geneva in order to teach and to research into precision medicine in IBD.

She represents Geneva in the Swiss Inflammatory Bowel Disease Cohort (SIBDC). In 2019, she was elected to the EpiCom committee of the European Crohn’s and Colitis Organization (ECCO). 

In 2022, she joined the campus of Hôpital de La Tour in order to create and direct the Center for Crohn’s and Colitis of Geneva.
