Your comfort

On this page, you will find information on all aspects of your accommodation at Hôpital de La Tour, including in particular in-room facilities, information about your meals, and services available during your stay.

Hôpital de La Tour has semi-private rooms (with two beds), private rooms and suites available. They all have excellent facilities and all the services and infrastructure for your convenience.  

In-room facilities

The care team is always on hand to help you use the facilities in your room and instruction guides are also available for some devices. Please ask if you need any help. 

In-room telephone 

There is a direct telephone line in your room. You will be given your personal number when you are admitted. There is a charge for outgoing calls. You will be sent a bill after you are discharged. In order to respect other patients’ right to peace and quiet, telephone calls can be received between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. Outside of these hours, family members can contact the main switchboard on +41 22 719 61 11 for updates on your care and condition. 

Wi-Fi network

Complimentary Wi-Fi is available for your devices. The network name is "Wifi_La_Tour_Reseau_De_Soins” and no password is required.  

Electronic safe

Your room has an electronic safe. There are instructions on how to use the safe on the inside of the door. However, we strongly advise that you do not bring in any jewelry, valuables, or large amounts of money. If you cannot give these to a family member, the hospital also has a safe where these can be stored. Hôpital de La Tour accepts no responsibility for loss or theft.    

Television

Your room has a television with Swiss channels as well as English and international channels. In semi-private rooms, each patient has a television and headphones to be able to enjoy their own programs while being respectful of their neighbor.  

Your meals

Our philosophy  

The catering team at Hôpital de La Tour offers four extensive seasonal menus with set menus, à la carte menus, and vegetarian options. Fresh, seasonal, local, and sustainable ingredients are used whenever possible. The chef prioritizes fruits and vegetables with Genève Région Terre Avenir (GRTA) certification and works with renowned Geneva-based meat and fish suppliers, including Boucherie du Molard and Gastromer.

The chef works closely with the nutrition department to create all meals.  

Special dietary requirements and allergies

Your meals are adapted if you have special dietary or medical needs. If you have any food allergies or other special dietary requirements, please inform a member of the care team.

Meal times

Meals are served in your room: 
Breakfast: from 8 a.m. to 8.30 a.m.
Lunch: from 11.45 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.
Dinner: from 5.45 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.

Meals with your family 

Family members can join you for meals in your room. Please speak to a member of the care team for more information. There is a charge for additional meals. 

If you feel well enough to do so and there are enough members of the care team available, you can also ask to have your meal with family members in the cafeteria at Hôpital de La Tour.

Cafeteria & Café Alto

Hôpital de La Tour has a cafeteria and a small coffee shop, where you can spend time with family members, if you feel well enough to do so. 

Cafeteria

The cafeteria has recently been refurbished and expanded to serve you better. It also has a terrace where patients and visitors can enjoy the sunshine. If offers a wide range of delicious and nutritious meals, including a salad bar, two daily specials, a grill, and a set menu.

Monday–Friday: from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday–Sunday: from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Café Alto

Café Alto serves a selection of hot and cold drinks as well as light bites (sandwiches and salads) and snacks.

Location: upper ground floor, B2 building
Opening hours: Monday–Friday: from 7.15 a.m. to 3.45 p.m.

Non-smoking hospital

Smoking is not permitted inside any hospital buildings. This also includes the use of electronic cigarettes. Smoking is only permitted in the designated smoking areas.
