Caring for you as we would for ourselves

Orthopedic surgery

Orthopedic surgery specialises in the surgical care of adults and children with medical conditions and injuries affecting the musculoskeletal system, in other words, the bones, joints, muscles, ligaments, tendons and nerves. Our orthopedic surgeons use conservative (non-surgical) and surgical treatment options and, in some cases, a combination of both.

Why choose Hôpital de La Tour?

Our trauma and orthopedic surgery department

Highly-skilled and experienced orthopedic surgeons work within our facility to form an established department, allowing us to provide emergency on-call services for trauma patients. This means that patients arriving at our emergency department with injuries can immediately receive emergency care from an orthopedic surgeon at all times. If necessary, patients are then referred to the appropriate specialist(s) for comprehensive care.

Highly-skilled surgeons specialising in a specific joint or group of joints

Orthopedic surgery is a vast field that is becoming increasingly complex with the growth of knowledge and development of techniques resulting in the creation of a leading specialism. As a result, patients benefit from sub-specialisms with regular surgical procedures. The surgeons within our facility do not perform an extensive range of different surgical procedures. Instead, they are able to focus on repeating and perfecting a small range of operations within the same highly-specialised area of expertise.

Our team is based in the same department, so if you make an appointment to see a surgeon who does not specialise in the relevant joint, we can always refer you to the right specialist.
