Multidisciplinary Activity Program for People with Multiple Sclerosis (MS)

Focused on physical activity and therapeutic education, this program is designed for people with multiple sclerosis. We offer comprehensive, interdisciplinary care to better support you as you live with the disease.

Who is this for?

People with multiple sclerosis whose EDSS (Expanded Disability Status Scale) score is 5.5 or lower. Before starting the program, a 45-minute individual assessment is conducted by a physical therapist.

What We Offer

A 3-month program supervised by a fitness coach and a physical therapist.

Program Overview:

  • A pre-program assessment
  • One supervised group exercise session per week
  • Online exercise sessions
  • Progress tracking via a workbook that guides you from the beginning to the end of the program
  • A workshop led by a speech-language pathologist on language and swallowing disorders
  • A workshop led by a nutritionist on dietary adjustments specific to MS

Practical Information

A doctor’s referral for physical therapy is required. These services are covered by basic health insurance.

Any missed appointment that is not canceled at least 24 hours in advance will be billed and will not be reimbursed by health insurance.

All services under this program will take place at La Tour Hospital.

Physical Activities:

Thursday 5:00–6:00 p.m.
Friday 8:00–9:00 a.m.

 

Speech Therapy and Nutrition Workshops:

Several dates each year.
