Shaping tomorrow's health care with you.

Perineal, pelvic and abdominal rehabilitation consultations

These consultations are designed to strengthen and/or tone the perineum and abdominal muscles. They are delivered by highly-experienced midwives who are qualified in urodynamics.

The perineum, also called the pelvic floor, is a group of muscles in the pelvis, stretching like a hammock from the pubic bone to the coccyx. These muscles play a very important role in preventing urinary incontinence, supporting the pelvic organs (bladder, uterus and rectum) and improving sex.

Who can make an appointment?

Our consultations are open to all women interested in this topic, particularly:

  • Women who have had a baby. In the postpartum period, treatment is recommended from six weeks after a spontaneous vaginal delivery, assisted vaginal delivery or caesarean section. You can also make an appointment for a consultation if you had your baby at another facility.
  • Women of all ages suffering from stress urinary incontinence, urgency incontinence, perineal heaviness or a bearing down pressure in the pelvis, etc.
