Exercise in pregnancy plan

Recent studies have shown that exercise is very good for the health of both the mother-to-be and her unborn baby, as long as certain precautions are taken. Exercise also helps to significantly reduce the risk of complications.

This is why Hôpital de La Tour's physiotherapists have worked with the Health & performance team to offer professional support to women who want to exercise during their pregnancy. The Maternal-fetal medicine center also supports for this plan.

Support throughout pregnancy plan

Who is it for?

This plan was designed for women who aren’t normally very active but would like support to do gentle exercise throughout their pregnancy. The activities are tailored to the time of year and the stage of your pregnancy.  

How the plan works 

The plan includes one hour of physical activity a week for 29 weeks. The sessions take place in groups of no more than six people.

 

 

Dates and times 

Monday 12pm–1pm (with a prescription)

Monday 5:30pm–6:30pm 

Wednesday 5:30pm–6:30pm (with a prescription)

Friday 12pm–1pm 

The sessions include: 

  • pilates  
  • walking  
  • aquagym 
  • muscle strengthening 
  • relaxation. 

A physiotherapist or a personal trainer leads the sessions. 

Prices and reimbursement

30 CHF per session

Please contact your supplemental insurance provider for information about coverage and reimbursement.
If you are prescribed physiotherapy sessions, the plan is covered by your basic health insurance.
