Dr Ihsan Inan is a Swiss-qualified specialist in general surgery with advanced training in visceral surgery and the founder of Geneva Surgery in Geneva. His practice focuses on advanced robotic surgery of the digestive system and abdominal wall, with particular expertise in functional abdominal wall reconstruction.
He completed his postgraduate surgical training in Neuchâtel, Fribourg and Geneva and has practised robotic surgery since 2005. His approach integrates robot-assisted techniques across a broad range of visceral surgical procedures whenever clinically appropriate.
His clinical scope includes inguinal, ventral and incisional hernias, including recurrent and complex hernias; rectus diastasis; colorectal and small bowel surgery; gallbladder and biliary surgery; gastroesophageal reflux and hiatal hernias; digestive oncological surgery; and emergency visceral surgery.
Patient care follows a structured perioperative pathway combining individualised preoperative preparation, enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) principles, multimodal pain management and organised postoperative follow-up. Particular attention is given to safety, functional recovery and shared decision-making.
Alongside his clinical practice, Dr Inan contributes to research and international robotic surgery education as an instructor, proctor and speaker.
