The benefits of outpatient rehabilitation
Outpatient rehabilitation allows patients to follow a treatment programme while remaining at home. This approach offers numerous benefits that promote sustainable recovery and adaptation to everyday life:
- A familiar environment. Recovering at home improves comfort, allows patients to maintain their personal routines, reduces stress and facilitates the adoption of new healthy habits.
- Involvement of loved ones. Family and partners can support lifestyle changes and reinforce motivation.
- Practical application. Advice and lessons learned are applied directly in everyday life, for more lasting results, promoting consistency and independence.
The programme encourages everyone to take charge of their long-term health.
What's next...
The long-term cardiovascular rehabilitation programme is designed for people who have already completed phase 2 cardiac rehabilitation and wish to maintain regular physical activity. Prescribed by the patient's cardiologist and supervised by physiotherapists and specialised sports instructors, the one-hour sessions are held in small groups. The programme aims to develop the independence and skills needed to exercise safely, as well as to support participants in achieving their personal fitness goals.
