The Medical Commission is a key body within Hôpital de La Tour. It is composed of representatives from various medical specialties, such as internal medicine, emergency medicine, orthopedic surgery, pediatrics, radiology, and many others. Each representative acts as a spokesperson for their fellow specialists, thereby ensuring a direct link between the various medical departments.

The Medical Committee meetings are held monthly and follow a predetermined agenda. They begin with a briefing presented by the CEO and the Medical Director. After this introduction, the CEO steps out and hands the floor to the Medical Director, who remains present throughout the session. The Medical Director plays a crucial role as a “liaison” between the institution’s management and the Medical Committee. He actively participates in strategic discussions regarding the facility’s medical direction, in collaboration with the committee members.
One of the key items on the agenda at each meeting is the review of applications from new physicians seeking to join the facility, thereby ensuring a rigorous and transparent selection process.

The Medical Committee is led by a chair, Dr. med. Alain Bigin Younossian, and a vice-chair, Dr. med. Magali Gauthey, who are elected by all physicians on campus for a four-year term, renewable once. Our Medical Director, Prof. Jérôme Pugin, joined our institution in October 2024.
