On Wednesday, January 22, 2025, the pediatric department at Hôpital de La Tour was delighted to receive a donation that was both unique and useful: a miniature motorcycle donated by the “Shot Gun Lake Side” Motorcycle Club.

Since its founding, this club has been passionately committed to charitable causes, under the leadership of its Founding International President. True to their desire to provide support and bring joy, the club members wanted to start 2025 by brightening the daily lives of young hospitalized patients. This motorcycle joins the two small cars already at the hospital, which are used to escort children to the operating room in a fun and soothing way. The goal of these vehicles is to reduce stress and anxiety among young patients before their surgeries. By transforming an often-dreaded moment—the trip to the operating room—into a pleasant experience, the medical teams and motorcyclists demonstrate genuine concern for the children’s emotional needs.

With the addition of this miniature motorcycle, the pediatric department at Hôpital de La Tour is expanding its program, which aims to make the hospital environment less intimidating and more reassuring for young patients. This initiative is part of an innovative approach to caring for children, combining play and medical care to improve their hospital experience.
