Mot du spécialiste

After spending 17 years working in universities and specializing in gastrointestinal and abdominal surgery, I decided to devote my time to treating patients as a sole practitioner. Over the years, I have developed a particular interest in minimally invasive surgery and digestive tract surgery (intestine, colon, rectum, and anus). My time spent abroad has allowed me to acquire a great deal of experience in these areas, especially with respect to the surgical treatment of chronic inflammatory bowel disease and colorectal tumoral pathologies. During my years as Joint Head of Colorectal Activity at the Geneva University Hospitals, I endeavored to develop these areas of interest both at a research and a teaching level.

Alongside this, I acted as surgical consultant for the Endometriosis Center at the Geneva University Hospitals for nearly ten years, working together with my colleagues in gynecology to ensure multidisciplinary treatment of this common yet often misdiagnosed condition. Finally, I was also joint surgical consultant for the multidisciplinary treatment of gynecological cancers.

I returned to Hôpital de La Tour in 2022 in order to put my experience to good use in helping patients suffering from gastrointestinal conditions, both in collaboration with the Crohn’s and Colitis Center and the Endometriosis Center, as well as with all of my other colleagues within the institution and the city of Geneva.

I still wanted to retain my links with academia and as such I am still attached to the Abdominal Surgery Unit as an Associate Physician (20%) so that I can continue to assist with more complex cases in particular.
