Dr. En-Ling Leung-Ki, Dr. Francois-Xavier Troillet, and Dr. Michael Drepper from the Gastroenterology department, as well as Dr. Lise Lücker and Dr. Alain Bigin Younossian from the Pulmonology department, are delighted with the new gastroenterology and pulmonology endoscopy suite, which will be available to patients starting July 1, 2019.
Located in new facilities on the 2nd floor of Building B1, the endoscopy suite comprises four rooms equipped with state-of-the-art endoscopic equipment, which will enable the following procedures to be performed according to the highest quality standards:
- Gastroscopy, diagnostic and therapeutic colonoscopy
- Diagnostic echoendoscopy
- Transabdominal ultrasound
- Small-bowel video capsule
- Diagnostic and interventional bronchoscopy for pulmonology
Direct access to the operating room complements this range of services for more complex procedures requiring general anesthesia, such as echoendoscopy with fine-needle aspiration, ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography), the placement of gastrointestinal stents for gastroenterology, as well as EBUS (endobronchial ultrasound) with lymph node fine-needle aspiration and radial bronchial echoendoscopy (mini-probe) combined with fluoroscopy for lung biopsies in pulmonology.
The creation of a new centralized monitoring room with 9 recovery beds will ensure optimal safety following procedures, most of which are performed under propofol sedation.
A newly renovated and equipped endoscope processing room ensures the disinfection of our devices in accordance with the latest legal requirements.
Finally, three consultation offices for gastroenterologists within the same facility round out this complex.
